Understanding REM Sleep

Something you cannot identify is chasing you. Your legs will not go any faster. Just when this thing reaches out, you wake up! Scientists call this stage of sleep the Rapid Eye Movement phase. Usually about seventy minutes into sleep your eyes have rapid movement and breathing becomes irregular.

Research has shown that there are five different stages of sleep. By the time you reach stage five, otherwise known as the REM stage, the dreaming starts.Check out this link here. Blood pressure and heart rate may increase and muscles become relaxed.

Dreaming is a regular part of our everyday life. Throughout time dreams played a big part and have impacted history and the media. There is a real curiosity about dreams and the mystery surrounding them. One example of a dream that went down in history is the story of the Titanic.

His name was Eugene Daly. He boarded the Titanic with friends at Queenstown. Repeatedly, he told his friends of a haunting dream. Every night he dreamed of an iceberg colliding with the Titanic. On April 15, 1912 the Titanic sank. Fortunately, Eugene lived to tell the story. Are shadows in our dreams revelation of things to come? This remains a mystery.
