What is Sleep Debt?

In a strange case of irony, very few people are familiar with the term sleep debt yet this is problem in which millions of people suffer from. Actually, the term sleep debt is quite transparent in terms of its meaning. Slept debt, on the most basic of levels, refers to the physical and mental wear and tear one acquires upon ignoring the importance of getting proper rest and sleep.

The severity of the impact on those that suffer from sleep debt will depend on the actual amount of lack of sleep the sufferer has experienced. Someone that goes to bed a little too late and wakes up a little too early for extended periods of time will not experience the same level of sleep debt as someone who has suffered from several days of complete sleep deprivation.

Regardless of the severity of the sleep debt, it is important to address the problem. If you are not getting enough rest then you need to get your body-s sleeping cycle back into its proper order. Those suffering from serious sleep deprivation will likely need to seek the help of qualified professionals capable of helping to reverse the issue.

In short, you need to find a way to pay off your sleep debt.
